Gamo Whisper .177

I've had this rifle since the end of Nov. 09 and for the most part I like it. Is there anyone out there who knows about this gun, had one for awhile? I realize to get tight groups the gun has to be shot quite a bit to get broke in.I've only put about 300 pellets through it. Sometimes my groups are really good and then the very next group, I might have well had shot with my eyes closed they were so spaced out. I am using the 3-9 scope that came with the gun. Is this wise or should I upgrade? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks John
