Why one Crosman Phantom shoots better then another

If your gun is not up to pair some will tell you to send your gun out for a tune when all it really needs is a good cleaning and a sound US or European main spring, nothing fancy or too costly just a good quality NON CHINESE MADE MAIN SPRING.

Here is an example of the stock Crosman phantom / Crosman Quest Chinese made main spring, You can see the variable length in springs from the same model gun, NEW from the factory.

Some ends are finished and some are not, some are closed and some are open.

So when ordering your Chinese Made Springer you may as well order a main spring to go...

Croman Phantom In consistancies

That's not the half of it. I have reviewed a fair number of Crosman Phantom springer's and without fail the screw holding the barrel to the body of the rifle loosens up.This is one of several glaring QC problems the good folks at Crosman have so far as I know has not been resolved. It's a shame because the Crosman folks are always willing to try and resolve any problems with their products but I have no Crosman springer's in my collection.I have had a 22cal. Quest I really liked but "Red" lock tightening the pivot screw and machining brass pivot screw washers still did not produce consistent performance.Obviously the problems are more varied than barrel instability and loose screws.
My $.02 worth:
