After my grandfather died in the early 70s, my grandmother gave me an "old" pellet gun when I turned 10 (1980) that she said he wanted me to have one day. It was a Benjamin Model 312 and I still have it to this day 31 years later.

I shot and hunted with rifle all through my youth with never a single problem. It was very accurate and reliable. This Benjamin is a fine gun and would make any kid, young or old, proud to have one. The serial number says it was made in 1961 and still fires true 50 years later.

This is a must have for anyone who enjoys shooting air rifles. Once you shoot an antique Benjamin, you'll find it difficult to enjoy a newer model from Wal-Mart.

I read with interest K. Bill's assessment of the Benji "312".

In 2009, I had the opportunity to pickup a pre-owned but,

well taken care of, Benjamin 312 that the owner had

resealed and restored. To start off with, this air rifle feels solid, no plastic here folks. This rifle had a peep sight installed and is something I really appreciate.

Pumping up this tootsie-roll Benjamin is easier than my 392,

or Sheridan C9. The real test is in the field where I can easily carry this 312, shoot all day, and is drop-dead accurate out to 35 yards.

What more can one ask for?

Recommended, and a pleasure to use.

I have had my 312, .22 cal. for 50 years. Had it rebuilt last year. As a kid I fed the family many times on squirrel, rabbit, pheasant and ducks. It was good for head shots out to 30+ yards, if I did my part. It still shoots head-size groups to 50 yards on a good day and from a rest..not as young as I used to be. If you get a chance to get one in good shape...TAKE IT!! You won't be disapointed. Just be sure it works really good.
