The Beeman Silver Bear 1783 is a Chinese made scoped rifle that can be picked up at Walmart for around 50 US dollars. The only things I liked about the rifle are that it is somewhat compact, quiet, and easy to cock lending itself to being a youth rifle. Unfortunately is underpowered, moderately accurate, and very hold sensitive.
I have owned this rifle since I was a child and during that time I have put well over 2000 rounds through it. The rifle is capable of doing 3/4" inch groups at 10 yards, however it is very hold sensitive. In order to get consistent groupings a very precise artillery hold must be used. Its low velocity give it significant drop at longer distances.
Overall the rifle is too underpowered and inaccurate to recommend, even as a youth rifle.
